Why We Made Lymora Drop Free
We are giving away six courses of exam material for free. Not as a discount. Not as a trial. Free, because the thing we actually need cannot be bought.
The only question that matters
Lymora Learn was never meant to be another site that dumps past questions into a folder and calls it a platform.
The plan was bigger: an exam prep system that actually understands a course, built for Rivers State University first, then for every campus after it.
But before you take something to thousands of students, you have to answer one question honestly.
Does it actually work?
Not in theory. Not in a meeting. Not because the team is proud of it.
It works when a student who just walked out of an exam hall says it worked.
That is the entire reason Lymora Drop exists. And that is exactly why it costs nothing.
Confidence is not validation
We spent months on the material engine. Every course goes through research, analysis, and more rounds of refinement than anyone outside the team would find reasonable.
Internally, we were sure. The notes were tight. The flash cards were focused. The questions felt like the real thing.
Here is the problem with being sure: it is not evidence.
Confidence is what you have before the data arrives. Validation is what you have after. We had a lot of the first and none of the second.

The review is the actual product
Most people will look at Lymora Drop and see free study material. Fair enough.
We see something else. Every download is a test. Every review is a result.
The questions we cannot answer from inside the building:
- Did the summaries actually save you time, or just move the reading around?
- Were the flash cards useful, or decorative?
- Did the exam questions look like the exam?
- What did we miss?
- And the big one: did the topics we predicted actually show up in your paper?
That last one is the whole ballgame. It is the difference between a study tool and a system that knows what it is doing. There is no way to answer it from a desk. Only a student with a marked script can settle it.
Then RSU moved the goalposts
While we were preparing a calm, sensible launch, Rivers State University released a revised exam timetable.
Exams moved forward by nearly a week.
Somewhere, a plan was quietly set on fire.
Students suddenly had less time than anyone expected. So did we. Two options were on the table:
- Delay, keep testing privately, and let students face a compressed timetable with whatever they could find on WhatsApp.
- Ship early, help students prepare, and collect the honest feedback we needed while doing it.
We shipped. It was the right call for the business. More importantly, it was the right call for the students sitting the papers.
One decision, two problems
The timetable change did us a favour, though it did not feel like one at the time.
Students needed focused material immediately. We needed proof before scaling. Lymora Drop solved both in one move.
Students get real preparation exactly when it counts. We get something worth more than revenue at this stage:
- Real usage, not a demo
- Real feedback, not compliments
- Real accuracy data, measured against actual exam papers
We will take that trade every single time.
Free is not a discount
Making the Drop free was not generosity. It was subtraction.
A price tag adds a question that gets in the way: is this worth paying for? We do not want students weighing that up before they have even opened the notes.
We want them to use the material. Study with it. Write the exam. Then come back and tell us, without diplomacy, what worked and what did not.
That answer is worth more to us right now than anything we could have charged for it. It is the thing that makes the next version better.
So the deal is simple, and we say it out loud: you get the material, we get the truth. Thirty seconds of your honesty for a course of prep. We think you are getting the better end of it.
RSU is the start, not the finish
Rivers State University is where we are beginning. It is not where we intend to stop.
The goal is Lymora Learn across universities, with material shaped to each curriculum and each examiner's habits.
But expansion should never happen because a team is ambitious. It should happen because the team earned it.
If we cannot solve exam prep properly here, on one campus, with six courses, we have no business carrying it anywhere else.
Every review from this pilot moves that decision from opinion to evidence.
